Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani's actioner, Baaghi 2 hit theatres yesterday, amid much hype and buzz. The thriller is a remake of the Telugu film, Kshanam (2016).
Baaghi 2 released in over 3,500 screens across India, and saw an impressive footfall in both morning and evening shows.
The film made Rs 25 crore at the box office.
Baaghi was Tiger's highest opener till date, with a collection of Rs 11.94 crore on its first day. Baaghi 2 has broken the first film's records, and is doing splendid business overseas as well.
One major reason behind Baaghi 2's glowing success, is that it released on the holiday, Good Friday. The film doesn't have much competition either, as Rani Mukerji's Hichki and Ajay Devgn's Raid do not possess much commercial value.
Baaghi 2 has been directed by Ahmed Khan, and also features stellar actors like Manoj Bajpayee and Randeep Hooda.
The actioner tells the story of Ronnie, an army officer, who has to find his ex-lover's daughter. However, along the way, he uncovers layers to the grim kidnapping, and finds himself dealing with a corrupt police force.
